Senior Construction Manager

Lead the construction of all permanent works for Bylor, a joint venture of Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O'Rourke, delivering the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion.

Are you a senior construction manager who has overseen construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications? Are you an effective leader who can manage a diverse team of workers, subcontractors, and other professionals, ensuring everyone is on the same page and motivated?
Role and Responsibilities
* Ensure regular site safety inspections at every level of the organization under your responsibility.
* Prepare supporting documentation for client and corporate safety committees and steering committees.
* Implement the safety system and ensure compliance with safety standards and site‑specific rules, monitoring corrective actions.
* Capture all learning and experience feedback for use across the project.
* Participate in investigations regarding accidents, incidents, or near‑misses within your scope.
* Apply the quality management system relevant to your scope.
* Carry out corrective actions originating from the quality management system.
* Identify, report, and investigate non‑conformances according to site rules.
* Execute remedial actions and report lessons learned to the Project Leader or Senior Project Manager.
* Liaise with Site Engineering teams to ensure timely production of methods documentation.
* Highlight issues with the supply of design information that could impact the programme.
* Review all method requirements before integration into the design provided by the client.
Key Skills & Competencies
* Experience delivering projects of up to 4 years with limited conflict and few key stakeholders.
* Previous experience managing work‑package interfaces between stakeholders – subcontractors, suppliers, client, and delivery team.
* Proficiency in managing documentation, subcontractor coordination, quality assurance and control.
* Strong communication skills.
* Experience working on large infrastructure projects.
Education & Qualifications
* Degree in Building/Construction Management or Civil Engineering with relevant experience.
* IOSH/SMSTS or equivalent safety accreditation.

All positions with Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O'Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes, and annual holiday allowance. Some grades may include a company car allowance.
All positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset, which boasts beautiful countryside, attractive coastline, interesting towns and easy access to the M5 and proximity to Bristol and Exeter.
