The opportunity
Our Accountancy Pathway is not just about numbers - yes you’ll be looking at the figures, but it’s also about problem solving, strategic thinking and getting involved in deciding what we do.
You don’t need to have studied Accountancy as your degree, or even numerical subject for that matter: this pathway is for everyone, from Architects to Zoologists. It’s your passion that counts, so if you’re commercially minded, a strategic thinker and excited at the prospect of being involved in big projects, this could be the pathway for you.
Whatever your role and whatever your background, you’ll get the training you need to shine bright as well as opportunities to develop long-term in your career. We’re continuously moving forward as a business, and we’ll make sure you do too.
And if you need support with your online application or you need to apply another way, we’ve got you covered there, too. Just reach out to avivaearlycareers@aviva.com .
“Accountancy here gives you the opportunity to have an impact on big decisions and quickly build your network of contacts. The work/life balance is fantastic too. There’s a great sense of community, which was really important to me as I was moving to a new city.” - Former Graduate
The role
Our Accountancy roles are based in either Norwich and York. We champion hybrid working at Aviva (typically three days in the office and two days from home), so you’ll need to live within commuting distance of the office where your chosen role is based. You’ll get the benefit of spending time with colleagues in real life as well as gaining more work-life balance.
On our three-year graduate scheme, you’ll rotate annually across key finance teams - think Financial Reporting, Business Partnering, Taxation, and Investments, gaining hands-on experience that goes way beyond spreadsheets. You’ll be working towards your ACA qualification, and by the end of the programme, you’ll be a fully qualified chartered accountant with a strong commercial edge.
We don’t just support your growth - we reward it. Every exam you pass brings a meaningful salary boost, and once qualified, you’ll be earning a market-leading salary that reflects your hard work and expertise.
But it’s not just about the numbers. For two of the three years, you’ll also take part in our central development programme, designed to build your confidence, leadership skills, and business acumen. It’s all about helping you become a well-rounded professional who’s ready to lead and make a difference.
