Accounts Assistant Location: Stockport, Manchester Salary: Up to £28,000 DOE Hours: Monday - Friday, full time, 9am - 5pm About the Company Our client is a fast-growing and respected business within the insurance and accident management sector. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of financial principles, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks with accuracy and efficiency. You will play a key role in maintaining our financial records and supporting smooth business operations. Key responsibilities include: Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and staff expense claims. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accounting systems (e.g. Xero). Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts regularly. Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports. Support credit control activities, including chasing outstanding invoices. Prepare and post journal entries as required. Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting. File and maintain accounting documentation and records. Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed. Assist during audits by providing requested documentation.
