Purpose of the Role
As a UK-based Design Engineer supporting our leading Consumer Electronics Brand client's global retail rollout, you will be responsible for adapting and optimizing fixture designs to meet regional market requirements, with a particular focus on India and other APAC territories. This includes tailoring designs to align with retailer-specific guidelines and ensuring technical excellence across branded retail fixtures, POS displays, and immersive store environments. You will collaborate closely with the Global Design Lead, internal HH Global teams, client stakeholders, and third-party suppliers across the UK, India, and APAC.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with the Global Design Lead to adapt MGFS fixture designs for regional markets, ensuring alignment with local retailer specifications and client brand standards.
* Apply design for manufacture principles to ensure concepts are innovative, feasible, and cost-effective.
* Modify technical documentation, 3D models, and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and PDM, incorporating region-specific constraints and installation requirements.
* Liaise with HH Global teams in the UK and abroad, as well as our client stakeholders, to define project timelines, cost estimates, and production feasibility.
* Ensure all designs meet the client’s sustainability, safety, and compliance standards.
* Participate in cross-functional development projects involving engineering, sourcing, and installation teams across the UK, India, and APAC.
* Support prototyping and sample reviews, incorporating feedback from our client’s technical and creative teams.
* Maintain and manage technical documentation, ensuring all stakeholders are updated on design progress and changes.
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
* Strong engineering background with expertise in materials such as wood, metal, plastics, and digital integration components.
* Proficient in SolidWorks and PDM; ability to sketch concepts by hand before CAD development.
* Experience designing for retail environments, preferably with global brands or high-tech clients.
* Experience working with Indian consumer electronics retailers such as Reliance Digital, Croma, Lotus, and others is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with retailer-specific guidelines and installation standards in India and other APAC regions.
* Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced rollout environment.
* Fluent in English; knowledge of Hindi or other regional languages is a plus.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross-cultural teams.
* Detail-oriented, innovative, and passionate about delivering technical solutions that meet our client’s high standards.
