Position Overview

In pursuit of being Earth's Best Employer, Amazon’s global Human Resources teams—People eXperience and Technology (PXT)—drive business success by fostering a safe, inclusive, and innovative culture. The Senior HR Business Partner is responsible for operational excellence and organizational health through PXT leadership at their assigned site(s). As a senior individual contributor, you will partner directly with Field Leaders, site(s) leadership teams, and General Managers, maintaining the seniority and credibility needed for strategic discussions on complex organizational challenges. You are accountable for the end‑to‑end employee experience at your site(s), owning feedback mechanisms, recognition programs, and environment standards that shape trust, engagement, and performance. This role requires balancing tactical excellence with strategic insight, leveraging both technology and human judgment to deliver high‑quality employee experiences while driving proactive risk identification and mitigation.

You will be expected to work onsite at an Amazon facility, supporting multiple site(s) within your region (campus) with regular mobility across assigned locations.

Key Job Responsibilities

Employee Experience & Engagement

Foster two‑way communication through Voice of the Associate programs, roundtables, and GEMBA walks, driving timely resolutions and strengthening employee‑leadership relationships. Execute engagement strategies and recognition programs that measurably enhance employee satisfaction. Build an inclusive environment where employees feel safe to speak up and bring their authentic selves to work, establishing Employee Resource Groups and ensuring equitable talent practices. Maintain meaningful floor presence across the site(s), building rapport at all levels and identifying concerns before they escalate.

Operational Excellence & Site Standards

Assess workplace conditions through regular site(s) walks, establishing routines to maintain facility standards in alignment with Amazon expectations. Partner with site(s) leaders and safety teams to ensure consistent execution of safety standards and programs. Lead strategic community initiatives partnering with Public Policy and Public Relations teams. Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation by establishing early warning systems, leveraging data insights, and making high‑judgment decisions that balance policy intent with business needs. Execute core PXT processes with rigorous standards, conducting inspections and audits to ensure compliance. Coordinate effectively with shared services and cross‑functional partners to ensure seamless service delivery.

Data‑Driven Decision Making & Technology

Lead in effective use of analytics and AI tools to uncover hidden patterns, predict emerging risks, and drive data‑informed decision‑making. Turn insights into compelling narratives that influence senior stakeholders and drive measurable improvements in employee experience and business performance. Drive strategic adoption of HR technology solutions and self‑service tools to enable both efficiency and excellence, leveraging automation while preserving high‑touch support for sensitive matters requiring human judgment and empathy.

Strategic PXT Leadership

Partner regularly with site(s) leadership and General Managers to balance operational needs with Amazon’s values and people priorities, applying high judgment to guide decisions on complex organizational challenges. Challenge status‑quo thinking and drive innovation in HR practices while ensuring sustainable execution. Coach Business Leaders on effective people management, including performance feedback, team development, and complex employee relations matters. Support change implementation by reinforcing messaging, addressing resistance, and helping leaders translate change into local routines. Set clear goals for culture transformation and implement comprehensive strategies to systematically strengthen organizational health, talent capabilities, and leadership effectiveness.

PXT Leadership & Organizational Health

Contribute to PXT team staffing decisions, resource allocation, and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage and capability. Participate in succession planning and promotion decisions, identifying high‑potential talent and development opportunities. Conduct talent evaluations for PXT team members, providing input on performance, potential and development needs. Support development planning and contribute to building bench strength for critical roles. Provide input on PXT team performance management and champion positive team culture and recognition practices.
