Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we are looking to recruit a Foundation Instructor/Technician on a part-time, term-time only, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £23,556 - £25,603 per annum, pro rata (£18,420.66 - £20,021.40 for part time).
As of August 2025, this role will benefit from a 3% pay award, increasing the salary to £24,263 - £26,372 per annum, pro rata (£18,973.53 - £20,622.76 for part time).

The Foundation Instructor/Technician Role:
As a Cafe Instructor/Technician, you will support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in creating a nurturing environment within our cafe setting. Your responsibilities will include developing vocational skills, socialising, and building confidence, as well as supporting students to prepare for the world of work.
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing daily food orders and deliveries
2. Overseeing hygiene processes, including temperature checks and paperwork
3. Stock rotation and weekly stock takes
4. Equipment maintenance
5. Cash handling and record keeping, liaising with the cash office
6. Supporting positive behaviour management and student concerns
7. Managing student behaviour according to college protocols
8. Collaborating with tutors, Learning Managers, and other departments to ensure high student satisfaction
Ideal candidate will have:
* Level 2 qualification or higher
* Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Experience in an FE setting (college or school)
* Experience working with young people with social, emotional, and mental health challenges
* Proven success in supporting young people
* Ability to work effectively with young people, parents/carers, and colleagues
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Knowledge of post-16 education and training
* Effective use of information and learning technologies
* Safeguarding training, including Child and Vulnerable Adult protection
* Continuous professional development evidence
