Senior Counsel In-House (Northern Ireland) Location: Armagh (with broader UK/EU stakeholder exposure) Level: Senior Legal Counsel / Senior Commercial Lawyer A leading international group is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its legal function. This is a senior, high-impact role providing day-to-day legal support to the European Executive and Senior Leadership Team. The position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer to operate at the heart of a major organisation, advising across a wide variety of strategic and operational matters. The Role As a senior member of the legal team, you will deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice to the business and its subsidiaries. The work is varied and highly engaging, covering high-value and complex commercial contracts, procurement frameworks, dispute management, property matters, competition law issues, regulatory support, and M&A activity. You will collaborate closely with the wider UK and European legal teams to ensure consistency, streamline processes, and support the development of standardised documentation. The role also involves regular engagement with compliance and data privacy colleagues. Key Responsibilities Include: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements with customers and suppliers Providing legal guidance to internal business teams across contractual, regulatory and operational matters Supporting the management of litigation and regulatory disputes, including coordination of external counsel where needed Advising on compliance related to marketing, advertising, and brand licensing Assessing legal and commercial risks and proposing practical, proactive solutions Managing relationships with external legal advisers and contributing to legal budget oversight Delivering internal legal training and supporting continuous process improvement Assisting with additional legal projects and initiatives as required The Person This role will suit an experienced commercial or corporate lawyer (likely 6 PQE, although all levels will be considered based on experience) who is comfortable working autonomously, partnering with senior stakeholders, and navigating a broad range of legal matters in a fast-moving environment.
