Job Title: Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist
Location: Acorn Park School – Norfolk NR16 2HU
Salary: Up to £53,200 DOE plus £3,000 Welcome Bonus (paid in two £1,500 instalments after completion of initial probation and upon final probation)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overlap to core school hours (part‑time hours may be considered)
Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks
Essential: Full valid UK driving licence, access to own vehicle
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke occupational therapy assessment and intervention to pupils aged 4‑19 with developmental trauma, neuro‑divergence, SEMH needs and other complex needs.
* Collaborate closely with education and clinical colleagues to support engagement, independence, and meaningful outcomes.
* Own and manage an occupational therapy caseload with full support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to staff training, consultation, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Adhere to the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working and maintain safeguarding and record‑keeping standards.
* Engage with families, relatives and carers to communicate progress and plan interventions.
Qualifications
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree.
* HCPC registration and membership of the RCOT.
* Relevant experience in a previous OT role (LD, SEMH, neuro‑divergence). Desirable: 3+ years practice and postgraduate study in sensory integration, developmental trauma or sensory attachment.
* Knowledge of neurodiversity, ASD, complex needs and trauma‑informed practice.
* Strong clinical reasoning, analytical, communication and relationship skills.
* Understanding of legislation, ethics, confidentiality and information governance.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, support staff and student supervision.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of assessment tools, intervention programmes and formulation of treatment plans across OT modalities.
* Evidence of continuous professional development and self‑development.
* Full driving licence and access to a car.
* Willingness to travel on company business and flexibility to work under pressure.
Desirable
* 3+ years practising as an OT.
* Formal postgraduate study in sensory integration and/or developmental trauma and/or sensory attachment.
