Northampton, Northamptonshire

10am - 10.30am, sleep-in shift – not waking nights. Two staff will sleep in per shift. There may be occasions when shifts finish later due to team meetings (around twice a month) or to accommodate hours.
About the role
We’re opening a brand-new 3-bedded children’s home for young people aged 8-17, following the success of our first home in Wellingborough which recently received a “Good” rating in all areas from Ofsted.
This is an exciting opportunity to join as a Senior Support Practitioner in the founding team of a brand new home that puts genuine care, teamwork and creativity at the heart of everything. You’ll work alongside a supportive and hands‑on management team who are passionate about providing high-quality care and building a positive, fun environment for the children and staff. The management team are absolutely brilliant; grounded, present and extremely experienced with masses of knowledge within children’s services.
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Support Practitioner, you’ll play a key part in both supporting young people and leading by example for the wider team. You’ll :
* Lead shifts and oversee the daily running of the home when required
* Support the children’s overall well‑being and development
* Model good practice and maintain a positive, safe, friendly environment for the children and staff
* Assist the wider team to meet the children’s needs within an exciting, friendly and collaborative learning environment
* Share knowledge and ideas with colleagues to further improve staff and child delivery
* Support the wider team to produce reliable outcomes in line with the split team structure, child delivery and service standards
* Thank you…
We’ll let you know if you succeed and the above will be refined further.
