Overview
We are looking to recruit 2 highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technicians with a keen interest in mental health to join our wonderful Pharmacy team, supporting inpatient and community services as a key member of the multidisciplinary team.
Post 1 – Hybrid role (Inpatient and Community)
* One post will be working in a hybrid role supporting inpatient services and community services and will involve close liaison with community based mental health services, patients, primary care, in-patient mental health services and local acute trusts within central Lancashire.
* The role will also support medicines management activity at Longridge community hospital.
* The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with the clinical teams, which includes a Clinical Pharmacist and Band 5 Pharmacy Technician, to provide patient centred care in an inpatient setting and also for service users living in the community under the care of the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).
Post 2 – Guild Lodge (secure inpatient hospital)
* The second post will be supporting medicines management activities within the pharmacy team at Guild Lodge, our secure mental health inpatient hospital.
* You will be a part of the team that provides high standards of care for people with complex mental health care needs, in a secure environment that safeguards them, our staff, and the general public.
* The role involves providing a comprehensive pharmaceutical service in collaboration with the other Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists within the unit and will include accurate preparation and dispensing of medicines, supporting medicines supply and discharge facilitation, medicines reconciliation and supporting staff using electronic prescribing and automated medication dispensing cabinets.
Shared responsibilities
* Both roles will also include a requirement to ensure safe and effective medicines management processes within the service.
* This will include compliance with regulatory medicines management standards and implementation of medicines safety alerts.
* As a valued member of the pharmacy team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to broader Trust initiatives and priorities.

The Pharmacy Service within LSCFT is a well-established team with a wealth of expertise in both Mental Health and Community services and continues to provide high quality clinical input into all aspects of the health provision delivered by the organisation. We are a supportive team committed to the education and development of our expanding service.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
