Systems Engineer – Communications
A global leader in advanced communications and information security technologies is expanding its UK Aerospace & Defence operations. With a strong presence across wireless communications, critical infrastructure, cyber, and electronic warfare domains, the organisation works at the forefront of next‑generation secure communications for government and defence customers worldwide.
As part of continued growth within the UK Defence sector, they are seeking experienced Systems Engineers. This role combines hands‑on technical responsibility with opportunities to contribute to the development of next‑generation maritime platforms and communications solutions that are shaping the future of defence connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide engineering support for secure communications systems deployed on naval platforms.
* Conduct installation, maintenance, and defect rectification on integrated communications systems.
* Perform system integration across RF, IP networking, and secure communications subsystems.
* Lead system‑level testing, troubleshooting, and platform validation activities.
* Define and maintain integration plans, interface control documents, and related technical specifications.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams spanning hardware, software, and systems engineering disciplines to resolve technical challenges.
* Undertake site work and system deployments across the UK and occasionally overseas.
Skills & Experience
* Experience working on secure or military communication systems, ideally for maritime environments.
* Good working knowledge of RF systems, particularly in the HF/VHF/UHF range.
* Understanding of TCP/IP server‑based systems and network fault‑finding.
* Experience in system verification, validation, and test plan development.
* Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
* Degree or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related discipline.
