Patient Services Clerk – Admin Services – CCC- HALTON
37.5 Hours per week between the hours of 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday on a rota basis - Including some weekend & Bank Holiday working
The Patient Services Clerk has a varied role which spans a number of different work areas. The tasks below describe the type of duties appropriate for the role, however, depending on where the post holder is placed, not all of the tasks may be carried out and there may be additional duties specific to that work area expected and within the remit of the role.
Responsibilities
To provide a professional, friendly and effective service face to face and via telephone to patients booked for radiotherapy/Chemotherapy & Outpatient clinics using the trust electronic patient record system. Also covering reception desks & booking appointments. The post is based at CCC HALTON but may require the successful candidate to travel to other hubs in time of leave or sickness. Travel expenses will be provided when / if required.
The Administrative Services Department is offering an opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team as a Patient Services Clerk. As a Patient Services Clerk within the Admin Services Team you will play a key role in ensuring patients are attended for clinics and are effectively communicated with regarding future appointments along with booking of non‑complex appointments. Our work is complex, interesting, specialised and driven by tight deadlines. As such, it is essential that you have good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure. A comprehensive induction programme provides new staff with the basic framework they need to undertake their role but it is essential that you have previous office experience ideally in an NHS environment. You will have a good standard of education including English and Maths, excellent computer skills and experience of competently handling telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries.
