The role
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
* Full‑time, Permanent
* Shift Pattern – Monday – Friday
* Base location – Community Centre for Health
Key responsibilities
* Service leadership – Supporting the Senior Nurse Manager in operational and professional leadership of nursing staff.
* Clinical expertise – Acting as an autonomous practitioner with advanced knowledge and experience.
* Team coordination – Overseeing daily operations and ensuring safe, high‑quality care across the caseload.
* Governance activities – Contributing to audit, incident review, risk management, and evidence‑based practice.
* Quality assurance – Ensuring excellent standards of patient‑centred care for individuals and families.
* Change management – Supporting practice development and service improvement.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
* NMC registration – Essential: current 1st Level NMC Registration.
* Post‑registration degree – Essential for the role.
* Leadership training – A management diploma or equivalent experience is desirable.
* Practice development – Experience in leadership, practice development, and managing change is desirable.
* Driving licence – Desirable due to the geographical area covered.
