Sustainable Healthcare and Advocacy Manager

£46,000 to £57,500 per annum + benefits, including up to 10% bonus

Angel Court, London

Hybrid working - 2-3 days per week in the office
Permanent

Full-time, 35 hours per week

As the Sustainable Healthcare and Advocacy Manager, you’ll play a key role in our Better World strategy, driving positive change at the intersection of human health, healthcare, and the health of the planet.

You’ll help shape our sustainability agenda, working with colleagues, customers, partners, and communities to inspire action and deliver real impact. What makes this role unique is the opportunity to leverage Bupa’s clinical expertise and credentials to influence both internal and external sustainability initiatives, ensuring our advocacy is rooted in evidence and care.

How you’ll help us make health happen

1. Collaborate with colleagues on embedding sustainability priorities and healthcare insights into Group and Market Unit plans.

2. Identify and leverage clinical insights from claims, treatment data, and healthcare trends to inform Bupa’s Net Zero Transition Plan, Communities strategy, Nature strategy and Advocacy Agenda.

3. Provide sustainable healthcare expertise to colleagues, championing innovation and driving progress in priority areas.

4. Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, subject matter experts, and strategic partners, informing a continuous cycle of insight generation, knowledge sharing and opportunities to influence.

5. Support the activation of our Sustainability Advocacy and Partnerships strategy, including our presence at key international events.

6. Support the activation of engagement campaigns and strategic partnerships to champion healthier, climate-resilient cities.

7. Manage Bupa’s approach to waste, single-use plastics, and circularity, monitoring and reporting progress.

8. Support the activation of our Nature strategy,

9. bringing internal clinical expertise and collaborating with academic partners, including at key international moments.

What you'll bring

10. Subject-matter expertise in sustainable healthcare, including environmental impacts of healthcare and health impacts of climate change.

11. Experience preparing for major international events linked to health and the environment, and generating thought leadership content.

12. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and adapt messaging for different audiences.

13. Strong diplomacy skills and the ability to work across geographies, health systems, and cultures.

14. Proven ability to deliver sustainable healthcare insights that shape organisational direction.

15. Track record of developing and delivering successful projects across complex business structures.

16. Organised, calm, and able to prioritise in a fast-moving environment.

17. Personal drive, energy, and enthusiasm, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence upwards.

18. A collaborative spirit, supporting others to meet objectives and deliver high-quality work.
