SECRETARIAL ASSISTANT – Medical Secretarial Team, Borders General Hospital
Band 2: £26,658 – 28,947 per annum pro rata; 20 hrs/week; Fixed-Term 12 months
Responsibilities
* To provide a comprehensive, confidential, efficient, and high quality secretarial and administrative support service to Secretaries and Medical Staff within the Medical Secretarial Team.
* You will be required to undertake a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties. You will transcribe confidential patient information using a voice recognition system, in conjunction with other hospital systems.
Qualifications
* You should possess the appropriate secretarial/administration qualifications or equivalent/training experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency with Microsoft Word would be advantageous, as well as excellent keyboard skills.

From 1 April 2026 the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours; part-time hours will reduce pro-rata with a corresponding increase in hourly rate.
