Overview
An exciting secondment opportunity to cover maternity leave for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager on Ward 17. Ward 17 is a 23 bed mixed sex ward specialising in respiratory medicine, including a 4 bedded respiratory high observation unit (RHOBs). The ward cares for patients with a wide range of respiratory and general medical conditions. The role offers opportunities to widen clinical skills and knowledge regarding efficient discharge, and to develop leadership skills including people management and ensuring high standards of care.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, organised and dynamic individual who is interested in developing leadership skills supporting the Ward Manager and the ward team.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership, support and supervision in collaboration with the Ward Manager.
* Ensure standards of care, patient safety and safe practice are maintained.
* Develop knowledge and skills in clinical governance and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhering to professional standards at all times.
* Work with the Ward Manager to coordinate safe, high quality care and support effective discharge planning.
Qualifications and Skills
* Highly motivated, enthusiastic, organised and dynamic with an interest in developing leadership skills.
* Ability to ensure clinical expertise and coordinate safe, high quality care.
* Accept orientation and competency development; role to be tailored to the successful candidate’s needs.
