Job summary This is a fulltime Consultant Plastic Surgeon post with joint responsibilities across the Plastic Surgery and Breast Services at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust. The post is currently filled by a locum appointment. The post holder will contribute to Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, Breast Reconstruction, Breast Microsurgery, and Orthoplastic Surgery. Breast related Plastic Surgery and Breast Services are delivered at the City Hospital campus, while Orthoplastic Services are based at the Queen's Medical Centre. Some oncoplastic activity will also be delivered at Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust under existing Service Level Agreements. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for the management of the full range of Plastic Surgery and Breast Surgery emergency and elective patients admitted to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Patient care will be delivered in collaboration with consultant colleagues as clinically appropriate. The appointee will provide reciprocal crossover during periods of colleague absence and will retain- continuing responsibility for patients under their care, ensuring the effective functioning of the service at all times The post holder is expected to devote substantially the whole of their professional time to the duties of the post and to prioritise these responsibilities in accordance with Trust expectations.
