We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy support worker to join our cancer pharmacy team. You will primarily work within dispensing and aseptic areas but will also gain experience in pharmacy stores and outpatient and ward areas. You will need to be flexible, organized, work well within a team, and have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude. Previous pharmacy experience is essential. You should have excellent communication skills and hold an NVQ2 qualification in pharmacy services or be working towards one. The post requires participation in weekend and public holiday rotas.
The job involves rotating through the dispensary and the pharmacy aseptic (sterile) unit, providing support to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Responsibilities include dispensing chemotherapy and medicines for side effect management, stock control, coordinating medicine delivery, environmental monitoring, assembly and transfer of products for aseptic manufacture, as well as administrative tasks.
Due to the critical and sensitive nature of this work, you will be required to meet high standards of discipline and personal hygiene, adhering to standard operating procedures and clean room behaviors. Full aseptic training will be provided.
We are a friendly, forward-thinking team putting cancer patients at the heart of everything we do. We would love to have you on board.
If interested in this exciting role and wish to discuss further, please contact Susan Henderson, Cancer Specialist Pharmacy Technician, at 01324 566726 or Julie Ross, Senior Technician, Aseptic, at 01324 566714.
