CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner (Development Role)

Are you a passionate, dynamic and compassionatepractitioner ready to make a difference in young peoples lives?

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5mental health practitioner to join our CAMHS Crisis and Home Treatment Team inHereford on a structured developmental pathway to Band 6. This is an excitingopportunity to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment that offers realscope for clinical development, training and supervision as you grow into amore senior role.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you willprovide responsive crisis assessments and intensive home treatment to childrenand young people experiencing mental health crises, with the aim of avoidingunnecessary hospital admissions.

The team adopt a trauma informed holistic approachto the young people of Hereford and have a supportive, learning culture meaningthis is a great place to work.

The service runs 7 days a week 8am-8pm shifts,flexible working is encouraged.

Main duties of the job

Undertakecrisis assessments and risk management plans for young people presenting inacute mental health distress

Delivertime-limited, goal-focused interventions in community and home settings

Collaboratewith families, schools, social care, and acute services to provide holisticcare

Participate in team meetings, case discussionsand multi-agency forums

Maintainaccurate clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives

Participatein a 7-day service rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Participatingin clinical, safeguarding and reflective supervision.

Workalongside clinical leads and operational leads

Job responsibilities

Operate as part of a multidisciplinaryteam providing Crisis Intervention and Intensive Home Treatment to CYPcountywide.

Use their initiative and takeresponsibility for themselves and the quality of their work and the servicethey provide to CYP.

Proactively engage in formaland informal education of Acute Trust staff and other partnership agencies,families and children and young people.

Actively and creatively engageCYP and carers encouraging them to make appropriate use of the servicesavailable as part of a process of recovery and crisis management.

Undertake full psychosocialassessments with those in need of such. Ensuring thorough, precise and timelydocumentation and dissemination of information in line with Trust policy andprocedure.

Undertake acute risk assessmentand safety planning for extremely vulnerable client groups during times ofcrisis.

Deliver High quality, evidence basedcare to a defined team caseload

Person Specification


Skills & Abilities

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.
* Ability to travel to patients at the needs of the service across a wide geographical area in a timely manner


Experience

* Experienced gained during pre- registration training either in a mental health or child placement setting
* Use of therapeutic interventions with children and young people i.e. 1:1, counselling, family therapy and group work
* Providing consultation
* Experience of working in a CYP service or Crisis & Home Treatment service
* Formulating and communicating a clinical presentation to an MDT


Qualifications

* RMN/RN (Child)/RN (LD/SW or OT
* Relevant professional registration
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
* Evidence of on-going continuing professional development
* Evidence of providing a supervisor role
