Finance Director, Icons Shop Ltd Reporting to CEO, key member of Senior Leadership Team Closing date - Monday June 29th, 2026 Role Description This is a full-time role for a Financial Director, located in Christchurch, Dorset. The Financial Director will oversee the financial operations of the company, including financial planning, managing financial statements, producing Board reports, and conducting analyses to guide strategic decision‑making.
Strategic financial management, compliance and governance oversight, and leading budgeting processes are key responsibilities of this role.
The Financial Director will contribute to the growth and sustainability of the business while ensuring adherence to financial regulations and best practices.
Given the productivity gains available from an insightful and targeted use of AI, Icons wants to embed a culture of AI usage, insight and analysis and drive MI reporting and retail best practices across the business.
Preparation of annual financial statements, corporation tax and company secretarial duties
Ensuring all contracts and licenses are in place
Running a stock management and re‑ordering system
Building excellent relationships with suppliers, auditors, bankers and tax advisors
Oversee annual audit and statutory account filing
Treasury management of foreign currencies
Forecasting and annual budget preparation, reviews with all functions
Leader of ongoing risk‑management process, mitigation projects and reporting to the Board
Advising on new product development projects, financially and commercially
Ensuring strong financial controls are in place and adhered to
Ensuring efficient banking facilities for the company
Ensuring all required insurances are in place and handling the annual renewal process
Implementing cost‑control mentality to ensure value‑driven decisions
Run payroll
Liaising with HR advisers and developing HR policies
Run the stakeholder pension scheme and EMI share‑options scheme
Work with existing Accounts Assistant to develop their skills and career development
Experience
Have an accountancy qualification – ACA/CIMA/ACCA
Retail experience preferred, ideally having worked in an e‑commerce business
Ability to use information wisely, analyse, tell a story and generate actions
Strategic thinker who is analytical and comfortable in the detail
Knowledge of international trade tax implications – we have a US entity
Ability to deliver accurate, reliable, high‑quality outputs in a timely manner
Demonstrable successful experience with setting up and maintaining cost‑control processes
Demonstrable successful experience with producing Board packs
Excellent IT skills particularly in Excel
Be AI aware and want to fully utilise the productivity gains this technology can bring

9 am to 5 pm working hours, 5 days a week
Occasional weekend work at busy times
