Audio Typist

We are recruiting for an Audio Typist to join the Secretarial Teamwithin the Rheumatology department, based at York Teaching Hospital. You will provide support to the Medical Secretaries and their Consultant Teams.

Excellent administration and audio-typing experience/qualifications are required, as well as a good understanding of general office duties.

You will be responsible for typing clinical and administrative letters and general office duties.


Main duties of the job

Our successful candidate will:

* Have good organisational skills
* Be able to prioritise the demands of a busy office
* Manage their time and workload effectively.
* Be required to work unsupervised and communicate with the medical secretary team on a regular basis.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* GCSE English Language, Grade C or above (or equivalent)


Experience

* Previous clerical/administrative experience
* Experience of using a variety of IT applications, including Microsoft Office
* Experience of working in a customer focused enviroment
* Knowledge of medical terminology


Skills

* Proficient audio typist with the ability to accurately transcribe complex audio tapes
* Effective communication skills, verbal and written
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to be flexible and to adapt to new demands
* Ability to get on well with members of a team
