What does the job role involve?
Domestics and Laundry Team play an important part in our care homes, ensuring it is a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.
Domestics role includes but is not limited to:
* Carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
* Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
* Ensure that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition.
* Be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
* Comply with COSHH regulations.
* Adhere to infection control policies at all times.
* Ensure the correct use of PPE.
* Re-stock trolleys at the end of shift and leave cleaning cupboards clean and tidy.
* Perform any other ad hoc duties within the role.
Laundry role includes but is not limited to:
* Ensure compliance with Laundry and Infection Control guidelines.
* Follow infection control measures, including wearing gloves and aprons when loading dirty/soiled linen.
* Ensure cuts are covered with suitable dressings.
* Handle infected/soiled linen in designated bags.
* Check pockets to avoid unwanted items in laundry.
* Familiarise with company policies.
* Adhere to Infection Control & Prevention policies, regulations, and guidelines.
* Report breakages and breakdowns immediately.
* Report or undertake clothing repairs as needed.

* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, demonstrating creativity and passion.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to follow and prioritise tasks effectively.
