Job Title: Probation Officer
Location: Kent, Surrey, and Sussex
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £28.63 limited per hour (Umbrella pay rate) or £20.30 per hour PAYE rate
This role involves helping clear backlogs of reports in the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex area. Candidates are expected to complete 5-6 reports per week, with an average of 5.5 hours per report, plus additional time for complex cases. Full-time applicants (37 hours/week) are preferred. Full Job Description:
* Working with individuals on probation to analyze and address their behavior
* Assessing offender needs
* Preparing and delivering reports (Court, Parole, etc.)
* Assessing and managing the risk of serious harm posed by individuals
* Maintaining accurate case records
* Facilitating learning events, providing guidance, support, feedback, and mentoring to operational staff across the Probation Service
The job holder is expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level as necessary.
Essential Requirements:
* Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree in Community Justice with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice or a recognized qualification by the Secretary of State for Justice as per Section 10 of the Offender Management Act 2007
* Experience working for a recognized provider of probation services in the last 5 years
* Knowledge of evidence-based practice and risk/needs assessment tools (OASys, SARA, RSR)
* Experience in writing detailed reports to strict deadlines, including Court and Parole reports
* Proficiency with Probation Service computer systems (NDelius, OASys)
* Working knowledge of Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements
