Overview
This is an opportunity for an experienced, qualified and enthusiastic Senior Project Planner to join our Transport and Mobility Solutions (TMS) team, leading the scheduling of highways infrastructure projects for a range of private and public sector clients across the UK. As the Senior Project Planner, you will be part of the project leadership team, reporting to the Project Manager, but working closely with the Design Manager and Discipline Leads.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
* Developing and managing detailed project schedules in Primavera P6 including the overall project plan, work breakdown structures (WBS), timelines, resource allocation, and critical path analysis
* Reviewing progress, comparing to baseline, inputting into variance reports, calculating earned value metrics
* Integrating design, procurement, and construction activities into cohesive timelines
* Monitoring progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment with project goals
* Preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and client review
* Supporting earned value analysis and critical path reviews
You will be confident in engaging with technical teams (therefore some experience of working on highways project is desirable), as well as liaising directly with the client, and key stakeholders.
Candidate specification
Essential
* Proven experience as a P6 Planner or Scheduler on engineering or infrastructure projects
* Understanding of highway design processes and civil engineering workflows
* Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Familiarity with NEC contract requirements in relation to programme
Desirable
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field
* Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams and getting their input into the programme
* Experience of working with contractor clients
