Directorate: Children & Family Services Section: Small Group Homes Grade: Level 8 Hours: 37 hours per week on a rota basis which includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Salary: The full-time salary is £33,699 - £36,363 (full time) Allowance for weekend working, 12.5% shift allowance and sleep-in payments as determined by home worked in (Allowances will be paid as appropriate which will be reviewed periodically) Join our dynamic team at Stoke on Trent City Council's Small Group Homes and be part of something truly special! Small Group Homes provide a service that delivers bespoke, high-quality care to looked after young people in community residential settings. We work with other professionals to ensure that young people are safeguarded and provided with experiences and opportunities to support and nurture them to transition to independent living or return to foster care or the care of their families We are looking for skilled, experienced staff to work with children and young people across Stoke on Trent to deliver the best outcomes and to keep them safe. Our small group homes are of excellent quality, and we have grand expectations on how we deliver the best care to our children and young people. What you need Experience of working with children. Possession of effective interpersonal skills and anability to develop effective working relationships with Children and Young People. A strong commitment to high standards of care and positive outcomes for Looked After Children and children in the care of their families. An ability to contribute to effective childcare planning. An ability to work flexibly as a member of a team. A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice. In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will need to be flexible and dedicated, ready to adapt to the needs of our service with a rotating schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Your commitment is key, including being available for sleep-ins as required. But fear not! We provide exceptional training and support to all our staff, including a comprehensive induction plan and ongoing supervision. We have a strong underpinning therapeutic framework we have developed with the psychological service we commission to work within our staff teams. As part of our team, you will have specific and bespoke training from highly qualified psychologists as well as monthly direct consultations and the ability for one-to-one support, guaranteeing you the tools you need to excel in your role. All our young people would receive a psychological assessment on admission to enable us to build the best care plan for that young person. The safety of all our young people and staff is paramount and we have an experienced service that has evidenced this is of a good standard. We can help the hardest-to-reach children with the right support and strategies, and we are keen to continue to grow and learn.
