Who we are
We are a progressive and innovative practice with c7,500 patients. Our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team consists of 6 GPs - 3 Partners, and 3 Salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant, Practice Manager and a full complement of Administrative staff. We are supported within the practice by our District Nursing and Health Visiting teams, our practice-assigned Pharmacist, Primary Care Occupational Therapist and Community Link Worker, and our Treatment Room offering onsite Phlebotomy, wound care and chronic disease monitoring. We have access to an Urgent Care Team who assist us with home visiting. We are forward-thinking in response to the changing landscape of primary health care and we are a West of Scotland training practice welcoming GP trainees throughout the year.
Where we work
We are based in a purpose-built Health & Social Care premises in the heart of East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire. Hunter Community Health Centre, provides space for 5 GP practices, along with NHS Lanarkshire CTAC (Community Treatment & Care Services), Community Mental Health teams, Treatment Room hubs, District Nursing services, Sexual Health clinics and Midwifery clinics.
Key Information
1. List size of approximately 7500 patients;
2. Clinical systems: Vision & Docman, with SCI Gateway for referrals and Clinical Portal;
3. Workflow Optimisation by Administration Team in place;
4. Monthly MDT practice meetings, daily informal lunch breaks with other clinicians;
5. Varied working days - mixture of face to face appointments (15 minute slots) and telephone consultations. On-call rota which incorporates home visits, Care Home allocation and weekly visits, participation in GPST tutorials and mentoring;
6. On-site parking and provision of parking permits.
