Job Summary
To assist with the garage stores operation. Complying at all times with health and safety legislation and Metroline’s policy statement on health and safety.
To ensure that a rapid response is made to requests for stock issues from garages.
Main Responsibilities
* Loading and unloading of deliveries
* Picking stock requested by garage personnel
* Provision of stock and consumables to garage locations
* Identifying parts & sources of supply
* The maintenance of proper stock records including the proper recording of all orders receipts and issues;
* The physical control and security of stocks including reporting and investigating instances of physical stock shortfalls, and abuse;
* Liaison with Technical and Purchasing staff to pursue warranty claims and resolve other quality issues;
* To ensure all activities within the garage store comply with relevant legislation including the 1974 Health & Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Act 1989;
Essential Criteria
* Demonstrable experience of working within a parts stores.
* A clear appreciation of the consequences of “stockouts” in an internal engineering stores to the smooth running of the business;
* Previous exposure to computerised stock control systems and be competent in their application;
* Excellent administrative skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Office and Excel;
* Full UK Driving Licence;
* Valid Fork Lift Truck Licence;
