Contract: Maternity Cover for an initial 6-month period, with the possibility of extension
Shift Times: Working on 4 weekly rota, 12hr night shifts (20:00-08:00) including alternative weekends
Shaw Healthcare is looking for a passionate and caring Nurse who is ready to make a positive impact at Burleys Wood, a modern care home providing elderly frail nursing and residential dementia care. We have 60 single ensuite bedrooms divided into 6 separate self‑contained units, each with its own lounge/dining area.

Job Responsibilities
* Assess patients’ health and care needs and develop care plans.
* Administer medication and monitor service users’ responses.
* Provide nursing care, including wound care and palliative care.
* Liaise with other healthcare professionals to coordinate personalised care.
* Support service users with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
* Provide emotional support to service users and their families.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records.
* Work within the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines to ensure high standards of care.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
* Participate in the induction and ongoing training of new staff members.
Qualifications and Experience
* NMC Registered Nurse.
* Experience working in elderly care, including caring for patients with Alzheimer’s and other dementia‑related conditions.
* Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
