Legal Accounts Assistant Overview
NC Associates are working with a well-established legal firm in Shrewsbury who are looking to recruit a Legal Accounts Assistant. This is a support-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and being the go-to person across a finance team. You’ll be working closely with the wider accounts team supporting all areas of accounts. It is an office based role initially with the view to potentially hybrid working after probation. It’s a great fit for someone who is flexible, proactive, and happy to get stuck in across different areas of transactional finance.
Legal Accounts Assistant Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the legal cashiering function with client and office account transactions
* Assisting with daily banking, receipts, and payments
* Helping maintain compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
* Providing support across purchase ledger - processing invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and assisting with payment runs
* Covering and assisting team members during absences and part-time gaps
* Supporting bank reconciliations and general accounts administration
* Responding to internal queries from fee earners and the wider team
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
Legal Accounts Assistant Experience
* Previous experience within legal cashiering and/or purchase ledger
* Understanding of SRA Accounts Rules
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skillsTeam player with a hands‑on attitude
* Confident using accounting systems and Excel
