The auditor is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the overall effectiveness of Stakeholder Cleaning Activities in line with the requirements of the National Standards of Healthcare Cleaning 2025.
The post holder will provide assurance to the Trust for meeting its auditing responsibilities in line with the National Standards for Healthcare Cleanliness 2025 regulations. This role is critical to supporting infection control across the organisation as well as influencing Quality Improvement.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a flexible attitude to their work, have excellent communication and computer skills and be able to work across site as required.
This post will cover Winchester including Andover war Memorial Hospital - rotated.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the post holder is to collect data from clinical and non clinical areas across the sites and enter into a hand held device.
The poster holder will together with their colleagues ensure that all Cleaning and efficacy audits are completed in a timely manner inline with the National timeframes.
Be able to effectively manage day-to-day working requirements, including across site and out of hours when required
To be adaptable to changes in day-to-day working requirements and environments.
To safely use equipment for own role within Trust and operating guidelines
Identify and undertake training, in line with the post holder’s personal development plan, and with the Trust preferred third party provider of the auditing suit
Ensure that Trust mandatory training is up to date
Understand stakeholder cleaning activity using SOPs or Activity Cards

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
o review the cleanliness of the general patient environment by physically visiting areas, as scheduled by the Audit System, ensuring that all areas/ rooms identified are reflected accurately on the reporting system for Clinical, Estate and Domestic services Trust wide.
·To assess the required elements visually for each of the stakeholder groups being sensitive to the hospital environment for example, seeking guidance from clinical teams or managers as to when to enter patient areas.
·To inspect and score the required elements there will be light manual handling tasks to tilt, look under, on top of, reach up for. For example, inspecting items not connected to a patient such as patient table, commode, bedside chair, looking under beds, reaching patient curtains, shower curtains, shelves, and drug trolley to name a few.
·Use the Trusts site wide software and handheld devices to complete the required Audits.
·Be the point of contact as the system administrator and communicate system issues when they occur back to the system provider.
·To gain a thorough understanding of all locations/areas across the stakeholder group.
·To understand the Trusts Cleaning Responsibilities Framework.
·Where there is audit failure, evidence that immediate feedback was provided directly to the stakeholders involved.
·Observe and review trends and failures across the stakeholder group using the data provided by the Trust Auditing system and ensure action plans across the stakeholder group are agreed and monitored as part of the rectification process.
·Responding to queries and concerns regarding completed audits or management plans as part of the wider process.
·To work autonomously and as part of a small team, planning and scheduling your workload from the audit list created by the Trust’s electronic auditing system. Prioritising audits and site visits in line with the Frequency Ratings.
·To be reactive to unplanned events and to conduct audits outside of the planned events in a timely manner understanding the prioritisiation methodology.
·To conduct assurance review of failed audits requiring rectification using the Trust’s electronic system.
·To be the main Administrator for the Trust electronic auditing system, ensuring that critical information is kept up to date and managing system licenses and access for the organisation.
·Provide monthly cleaning reports to the stakeholder group.
·To support your line manager in their duties and perform any other duties ad hoc or otherwise as required of you.
·To be physically able to walk around carrying a tablet/pad and or carry bag for the duration of your shift, 7.5hours across five days, as well as moving equipment alone.
·Be able to conduct a proportion of audits out of hours which may include occasional weekends, nights, late and early starts.
