Are you someone who can help a person when their lives have changed in the blink of an eye?

We are looking to recruit into our team of Stroke Rehabilitation Assistants in the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate would be someone looking to drive forward care provision, with a passion and commitment to improving the delivery of Stroke Services.

Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence is required (role will involve travel to numerous addresses that cannot be easily accessed by public transport means).

If you are passionate about making a difference, and want to contribute to an organisation which is continuously striving to improve, then we would love to hear from you!

Stroke is a life changing event and we are looking for someone who can motivate and empower patients so that they regain as much function and independence as is possible.

The role works alongside a wide range of professions, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and the wider medical multi disciplinary team. We are therefore seeking a team player, with a strong desire to provide compassionate care and empower others within a friendly and supportive environment. You must also be able to demonstrate good communication skills, working closely and building effective relationships with colleagues and building rapports with patients and relatives.

Previous experience in care provision or rehabilitation is desirable, but training in the role will be provided, and ongoing training and advice is available from our experienced and supportive team.

Candidates would be required to work across all 3 stroke specialist sites in order to support service needs. This would include the Acute Stroke Unit, Stroke Rehabilitation, as well as in the patient’s own home as part of the Community Stroke Team.

Please note, the ability to transport yourself and equipment across the local area during the course of a normal working day is essential for this role. We would strongly encourage anyone interested in this exciting opportunity to contact us to discuss the role.
