Overview
Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (Older People) Band 7 - 8a Dev Post. This development post can be for a band 7 or an 8a post to a candidate with the right experience. We are looking to appoint an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist to join our welcoming and psychologically minded team to provide a service of excellence for Older People within Hertfordshire. The post involves a diverse range of work, from specialist assessments and intervention to supervising and supporting other members of the psychology team, and working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will play a central role in offering supervision and working closely with the local university, and will contribute to service development and innovation.
We recognise the key role of consultation in developing services. The ideal candidate will share values of compassionate and trauma‑informed services, whether in psychological therapies or neuropsychological assessment. The team emphasises continuous quality improvement and co‑producing what clients require, with a focus on audit, research and project development within the service.
Responsibilities
* Complete specialist psychological assessment (including risk assessment) and provide treatment for clients referred to the service.
* Provide highly specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, contributing to client formulation, diagnosis and case management plans.
* Provide professional and clinical supervision to Assistant Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists within the service.
* Support psychological aspects of service development, evaluation, research, teaching and maintain standards in supervision and CPD.
* Engage in collaboration with the wider MDT and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
* HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist.
* Experience with older people and a track record in specialist assessments and interventions.
* Experience in supervision, teaching, audit, research or project development is desirable.
