You will be based at Lister Street, University Hospital Crosshouse. What you will do: The post holder will be a core member of the IPCT reporting directly to the Infection Control Nurse Team Lead. The successful candidate requires: First level registered nurse with relevant clinical experience Evidence of post registration education and training Commitment to undertake an appropriate Infection Control Qualification (diploma, degree or masters level) Practical experience of undertaking and reporting on audits as well as preparing and delivering education and training, including presentations as required A keen interest in infection prevention and control Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written are key components of the role Car driver with own transport is essential For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job description Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job: The post holder requires to be a 1 st level Registered Nurse with relevant current clinical experience. They should also have evidence of formal post registration education, training and development. They will hold, or give a commitment to undertake an appropriate Infection Control Qualification to diploma, degree or masters level. Practical experience of undertaking audit, including report writing and action planning is essential. Previous experience in delivering education and training to staff is a requirement for the post The post holder must have a comprehensive knowledge of the NHS Scotland HAI agenda, including national infection control guidelines and policies. In addition the post holder must be able to demonstrate practical translation of infection control theory into practice Excellent communication skills verbal and written are required The post holder must have relevant IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office, Internet, e-mail and digital photography software. There is a requirement to establish and maintain databases for the recording and analysis of surveillance and audit data.
