Lead Oncologist – Breast & Colorectal Clinical Oncology
To ensure the continued delivery of high-quality oncological care to patients within the trust and contribute to the further development of the service, the appointee will be Lead Oncologist for Breast Clinical Oncology and Colorectal Clinical Oncology, sharing responsibility for colorectal cancer treatment and management with Dr. Morton‑Gittens, Specialist Oncologist.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the clinical management of breast and colorectal oncology patients within the trust.
* Collaborate with Dr. Morton‑Gittens to share responsibility for colorectal cancer treatment and management.
* Maintain and enhance multidisciplinary management of patients with malignant colorectal and breast diseases.
* Increase patient entry into clinical trials and expand the service to meet patient needs.
* Contribute to ongoing service improvement programmes, including Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT), the Cost Improvement Programme (CIP), and the implementation of evidence‑based new ways of working.
Professional Development
* Encouraged to apply for fellowship of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.
