Overview

EQUANS are looking for a Static Mechanical & Electrical Engineer working on our HMCTS contract at Liverpool Crown Court. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.


Responsibilities

* The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Mechanical Buildings Services Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and Equans processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities.
* Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to the electrical infrastructure and plant in accordance with Site task schedules and CAFM.
* Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
* Ensure that plant faults and defects are always swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
* Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
* Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
* Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are always prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
* Develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
* Provide a safe and healthy working environment, including the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.
* Maintain the professional image of Equans at all times.
* Keep plant logs up to date at all times.
* Keep all plant rooms under Equans responsibility clean and tidy.
* Supervise and monitor subcontractors’ work while they are on site undertaking maintenance.
* Arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover on short notice and be flexible in working patterns.
* Perform lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
* Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
* Maintain awareness and compliance with contractual KPI's/SLA's.
* Keep the CAFM system (e.g., Total Mobile) up to date and close out PPM and reactive tickets with accurate data.
* Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Equans’ Technical and SHEQ processes and client requirements (or an approved client system).
* Carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
* Provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.


Client / Customer

* Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests.
* Coordinate quotations with the contract manager.
* Produce information for quotations.


Helpdesk – PPM

* Support the Helpdesk as required when reporting or updating planned and reactive maintenance.
* Be available for out of hours call‑out support for the contract.


Compliance

* Gain Technical Appointments as required (e.g., LVCP/Low/High Risk Pressure AP) and issue PTW and Isolation Certificates to subcontractors and EQUANS staff.
* Ensure compliance with the Written Scheme of Examination (PSSR) if detailed within the contract.
* Produce Condition/Dilapidation Reports as required.
* Inform the supervisor immediately if dangerous circumstances occur.


SHEQ

* Comply with requests for information from the SHEQ manager.
* Work to the company health and safety policy.
* Ensure PPE is safe to use.
* Report accidents and near misses in a timely manner.
* Ensure test equipment is within calibration.
* Follow Method Statements & Risk Assessments for all works.


Impact

Working to a high standard of Building Maintenance, we require a fully reliable and competent Mechanical Technician who can work on their own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractors, producing high quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of Equans so a smart appearance and the ability to discuss findings with customers is required.


Qualifications & Experience

* Ability to fault‑find, diagnose and rectify complex Mechanical faults and issues unaided.
* Excellent knowledge of Mechanical systems and components.
* Ability to plan and oversee Mechanical plant isolation and shut‑downs for maintenance, inspection or remedial works.
