Outpatients Department
**Please note this is not for Childrens or Maternity services**
Main duties of the job
Working as a Healthcare Support Worker within the outpatients you will be an essential part of our team.
You will be taking on tasks, including cleaning, and setting up clinic rooms, completing some of the paperwork, preparing equipment trolleys and helping patients move or undress. We will also teach you technical skills, including how to check a patient’s weight, height, blood pressure, temperature and heart rate and some emergency lifesaving skills. With the chance to learn more advanced skills such as taking a patient’s blood for testing, eye tests, bandaging and even some minor surgery.

Working for our organisation
The role will be within the clinics which are open from 8am to 6pm during the week and on some weekends but there’s enhanced pay for any unsocial hours.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Literacy level 1 or equivalent (GCSE D-G)
2. ESOL level 1 or equivalent (if English not first language)
Desirable criteria
3. IT literate Literacy level 2 or equivalent (GCSE A-C)
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
4. Previous experience in Health / Health and Social Care role
5. Able to demonstrate current knowledge and identify own learning needs
Desirable criteria
6. Previous NHS experience
Skills & Ability
Essential criteria
7. To be able to demonstrate the required behaviour in keeping with the Trust values
8. Good written and verbal communication in the English language
Desirable criteria
9. Full driving licence
