Main duties and responsibilities
* Provide a welcoming and professional first point of contact for all patients and visitors, both in person and over the phone.
* Use SystmOne (S1) to manage patient appointments, registrations, repeat prescriptions, and medical record updates accurately.
* Handle patient enquiries efficiently, signposting to the appropriate clinician or service when required.
* Support clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
* Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, including test results, referrals, and hospital communications.
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times in line with data protection and NHS policies.
* Work as part of a supportive team to deliver excellent patient care and contribute to a positive practice environment.

Job Summary
The post holder will provide an efficient, friendly, and high-quality reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, and the wider healthcare team. Working as part of a busy reception team, you will be the first point of contact for patients, handling enquiries, booking appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records using SystmOne (S1).
The role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Reception Duties
* Welcome and assist patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
* Manage incoming calls and patient enquiries efficiently, signposting appropriately.
* Schedule, amend, and cancel appointments using SystmOne (S1).
* Process prescription requests and ensure accurate data entry into patient records.
* Handle registrations, deductions, and updates to patient details.
* Maintain confidentiality in all interactions and in line with data protection policies.
Administrative Support
* Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, including hospital letters and test results.
* Support clinicians and the management team with administrative tasks as required.
* Ensure waiting areas and reception spaces are welcoming and organised.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and the smooth running of the practice.
Teamwork and Communication
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and the wider team to deliver excellent patient care.
* Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
* Uphold practice policies and procedures, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion
