Overview
We have an opportunity for an experienced Receptionist to join the practice team. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and committed individual with a proven record of delivering exceptional customer service in a general practice environment. Accuracy and attention to detail are key to this role.
The working pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 09:30-20:30 (GP+, Angel Row). Holiday and sickness cover is essential, so flexibility and reliability are key requirements for this role.
Responsibilities
* Manage the reception desk ensuring surgeries run smoothly and efficiently.
* Receive patients and visitors courteously and efficiently.
* Process appointment requests by telephone or in person.
* Action queries for repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
* Provide point of contact for patients and act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors, and other members of the Primary Health Care Teams.
* Take requests for home visits and ensure they are recorded and processed correctly.
* Liaise with hospitals, primary health care teams, social services, etc.
* Enter computer data and update patient records.
* Open and close the practice as necessary, ensuring reception, office, and consulting rooms are prepared for the morning session.
* Work in accordance with written protocols.
* Complete tasks allocated by managers or GPs.
* Attend team training events as part of ongoing development and training.
* Assist in opening and distribution of post if needed.
* Attend protected learning time sessions when required.
* Register patients as per the practice's policy and procedures.
* Take a lead role in a specialised area as part of ongoing personal development as allocated by the practice manager.
* All staff are required to be flexible and take their share of providing cover for colleagues who may be absent due to holidays or illness.

Nottingham City General Practice Alliance (NCGPA) was formed in 2016. We are Nottingham city's first GP Federation, often referred to as NCGPA or the Alliance. Our members consist of 45 NHS GP practices in Nottingham city, who cover a population of over 336,000 patients. We are the lead employer for our PCN based roles such as Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribing Link Workers and Health and Wellbeing Coaches.
NCGPA is a Company Limited by shares, with its member practices being equal shareholders. The company is managed by a board of 8 elected representatives from member GP practices and three co-opted positions representing nursing, lay and non-principal GPs.
