Salary: £8.00 per hour for U18s / £12.71 per hour for over 18s

Ness Islands Railway is looking for a temporary assistant on a casual contract to help operate and run our wee train during the Easter school holidays and the summer school holidays, and weekends in between until the end of the season. The successful candidate will be offered working hours based on the demand.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RAILWAY ASSISTANT
What you’ll be doing ...
* Set up at the start of the day: help preparing the premises for the day prior to opening.
* Ticket and kiosk sales: sell tickets to our passengers, and snacks and drinks to park visitors.
* Greeting and queue management: greet passengers at the gate and look after the queue while they wait.
* Guard duties: travel at the back of the train ensuring both passengers and staff are safe during the journey.
* End of the day / cashing up: help with the cashing up at the end of the day and the closing down.
