Job Description Job Description Job Title: Service Engineer / Surveyor — Windows, Doors & Glazing Contract Type: • Full-time (PAYE): Service Engineer with surveying responsibilities • Freelance: Surveyor (survey-only role available) Location: Client sites across London & the Home Counties (occasional wider UK travel) Hours: 08:30 – 16:30, Monday to Friday (flexibility required) Company Vehicle: Provided for business use (PAYE only) Role Overview We are looking for skilled professionals to support our growing projects in glazing and fenestration. This role can be offered in two formats: • Full-time PAYE Service Engineer (with surveying capability): A dual role combining precise site surveys with aftersales servicing and maintenance of windows, doors, and associated products. • Freelance Surveyor: A flexible, self-employed opportunity for experienced surveyors to carry out technical site surveys only. Projects involve bespoke aluminium, uPVC, timber, and composite installations, including: • Windows and doors • Conservatories • Rooflights • Bifold doors • Large sliding systems Work is primarily residential, with some commercial sites such as schools, hospitals, and public buildings. Key Responsibilities For Full-time PAYE Service Engineer and Surveyor: • Carry out detailed hand-drawn site surveys and provide technical assessments. • Diagnose and resolve service, maintenance, and aftercare issues on installed products. • Verify site readiness (levels, access, structural requirements) and advise clients where necessary. • Work collaboratively with internal teams, communicating survey results, sketches, and recommendations. • Deliver a professional customer service experience, ensuring all issues are resolved efficiently. • Maintain accurate site documentation and records. • Conduct detailed hand-drawn surveys and provide accurate measurements. • Communicate survey findings and recommendations to the office team. For Freelance Surveyors: • Conduct detailed hand-drawn surveys and provide accurate measurements. • Communicate survey findings and recommendations to the office team. Requirements • Proven experience in surveying and/or servicing windows, doors, conservatories, rooflights, bifold and sliding systems. • Strong technical skills in hand-drawn surveying and precise measurement-taking. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Flexibility to work either as PAYE (full-time) as a service engineer and surveyor or freelance (survey-only). • Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided for PAYE engineers).
