Overview
Domestic Assistants support the Trust in delivering a clean and safe environment for both service users and staff. We are looking for enthusiastic Bank Domestic Assistants to join our Facilities Team at Springview Hospital. Hours are as and when required. Duties will vary. You must be mobile and will be required to work as part of a team and be flexible within your working approach e.g. cover for annual leave and sickness. Previous experience in a domestic environment would be advantageous; if not, training will be provided. The Trust currently supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this. Responsibilities
* To be responsible for cleaning all areas in accordance with the NPSA national standards of cleanliness, following the approved CWP cleaning schedule and to adjust work routine if required for the needs of the ward / department.
* To be accountable for cleaning all areas in accordance with COSHH regulations.
* To be accountable for collecting daily rubbish and taking it to designated area.
* To undertake the washing up of mealtime dishes for patients.
* To be responsible for opening up or closing buildings as appropriate this would only be in exceptional circumstances and with prior discussion.
* To be responsible for informing Porters / security or any security breaches if building is empty.
* To be accountable for ordering cleaning materials as and when required with your supervisor.
* To be responsible for keeping all equipment used in connection with duties in a clean and tidy condition.
* To be responsible for bringing to the attention of the domestic supervisor, all faults on equipment.
* To provide details of any untoward incident to administrative / senior nursing staff.

Induction and applications
All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.
