Overview
As Operations & Hospitality Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in bringing extraordinary moments to life at Hillsborough Castle. From formal dinners and conferences to Investitures, Citizenship Ceremonies, Garden Parties, Gun Salutes, and VIP or overnight stays, you will orchestrate events that are both memorable and meaningful, delivered with warmth, grace, and impeccable attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate and support the Household and Hospitality teams, fostering a positive, professional working environment
* Plan and deliver ceremonial, official and stakeholder events to exceptional standards
* Coordinate staffing, logistics, programme requirements and guest experience across all events and hospitality activities
* Oversee VIP and overnight experiences, ensuring seamless service and discretion at all times
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the estate to deliver multi-departmental events and shared objectives
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures and complete/oversee risk assessments
* Undertake additional duties as required to support smooth operational delivery

Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in hospitality or operational delivery, ideally supported by relevant qualifications (Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration or Hotel Management)
* Proven experience planning and executing complex or high-profile events
* Demonstrated ability to supervise, train and develop staff
* Excellent organisational and logistical skills with meticulous attention to detail
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging diverse stakeholders
* Ability to remain calm, professional and decisive under pressure
* Understanding of Health & Safety processes and risk assessment procedures
* 3+ years’ experience leading hospitality or operational teams in high-profile or service-driven environments
* Experience within heritage, cultural or historic settings
* Experience managing VIP accommodation or guest stays
* Awareness of ceremonial protocols and/or heritage conservation considerations
* A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
