An excellent opportunity for a Management Accountant to joina not-for-profit independent organisation working in partnership with the NHSbased in Farnborough, Hampshire. The role will require the commitment ofsomeone on a full time and permanent basis.

You will have responsibility for the month-end close processand supporting the Financial Controller with a variety of financeresponsibilities. Ensuring the accurateand timely delivery of monthly management accounts and year-end audit in linewith the company and statutory requirements

Main duties of the job

As a crucial part of the Finance team and reporting into theFinancial Controller, your role will be responsible for the delivery of monthlymanagement accounts, bank accounting, credit control, fixed assets, VATreturns, published financial statements, annual external audit, policies &procedures and supporting both Finance Director and Financial Controller withFP&A activities.

North Hampshire Urgent Care Ltd (NHUC) is a CommunityBenefit Society, working in partnership with the NHS. NHUC provides services through two divisions,Same Day Care (SDC) and TalkPlus.

SDC provides services through the Integrated Urgent Care(IUC) contract which covers the in Hours Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) andOut of Hours (OOH) provision for North Hampshire, North East Hampshire andFarnham (NEHF) and Surrey Heath places which are part of the Hampshire and theIsle of Wight ICB and Frimley ICB respectively. NHUC also provides Urgent Treatment Centres atthe front doors of both Basingstoke and Frimley Park Hospitals whilst alsoholding some smaller contacts supporting Community Hospitals OOH and Fluresponse. Finally, SDC has a virtual care arm supporting patients at home.

TalkPlus provide NHS Talking Therapies, supporting peoplewith common mental health problems in North East Hampshire and Farnham place. TalkPlus offers a range of treatments topeople who are experiencing symptoms of stress, anxiety, low mood, depression,panic, phobias or OCD. TalkPlus has care pathways to provide timely treatmentfor perinatal and military veteran referrals.

Job responsibilities

Undertake the following areas of responsibility working with other members of the Finance team as required.

* Customer invoicing and credit control customers to contract terms.
* Maintain the Fixed asset register, accounting and physical verification.
* Month-end close journals for cost transfers, accruals and prepayments
* Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts on a timely basis.
* Maintenance of bank accounting and formal monthly reconciliations.
* Maintenance of balance sheet analyses and control account reconciliations
* Analysis of monthly cost centre spend against budget, forecast and CIPs - to write commentaries and support forecasting
* Support the month-end payroll and payments processes.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC
* Prepare draft year-end financial statements for review & audit
* Work as part of the team to meet the requirements of the external auditors for the annual year-end audit
* Maintenance of members register
* Support the preparation of the Annual Report.
* Develop and maintain finance policies and procedures / process documentation
* Review and reconcile payroll and pension control accounts in Sage Accounts
* Support the Financial Controller with the annual budget and in-year forecasts attend reviews with the Finance Director
* Support the Financial Controller in partnering with the businesss operational, corporate and clinical management
* Ad hoc finance projects

Person Specification


Knowledge, Training and Experience

* Ability to use initiative and know when it is appropriate to seek advice
* Excellent Computer skills and IT literate - ability to learn job-specific IT systems
* Computer and IT literate use of MS office including strong Excel skills, 365 email/software/send & receive documents
* Good organisational skills
* Previous experience working in the NHS or a non-profit organisation
* Previous experience working with Sage accounting / payroll application software
* Sage 50 accounting or payroll software experience

* Clear communicator with excellent oral and writing skills
* Good attention to detail to ensure accuracy
* Ability to work on own initiative with guidance and input from managers, within standard operating systems
* Excellent time-keeping and reliability
* Tactful and diplomatic with an ability to maintain confidentiality

* Qualified ACCA, ACMA or ACA
