RPS is currently seeking an efficient Project Technician to join our operations support team, looking after projects related to wastewater networks based in Irlam. This role is office-based and will be assisting the Project Management team to deliver projects focussed on wastewater asset surveying. This is an interesting and rewarding role that would suit someone who has an interest in the environment. The starting salary for this role is negotiable DOE plus extensive benefits.

What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and processing data collected during site-based drainage investigations and surveys, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Data Processing & Management
Collate, input, and validate data from drainage surveys and site investigations.
Maintain accurate records of CCTV footage, site notes, GPS data, and condition reports.
Use specialist software (e.g., WinCan, GIS platforms) to process and interpret survey results.
Administrative Support
Prepare and format technical reports for clients and regulatory bodies.
Assist in scheduling site visits and coordinating survey teams.
Maintain filing systems (digital and physical) for project documentation.
Communication & Coordination
Liaise with field engineers and surveyors to ensure completeness and clarity of submitted data.
Communicate with clients regarding report submissions and follow-up queries.
Support the Project Manager with project tracking and performance metrics.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and company procedures.
Assist in internal audits and quality checks of survey data and reports.
About You?
Must have experience in project administration, ideally within the drainage/environmental industry
Excellent IT skills and proficient user of MS Office suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly efficient, organised with excellent problem-solving skills
A flexible approach and reliable
Able to work quickly and accurately
Approachable with great interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise at all levels in a professional manner
Able to use initiative and work unsupervised
Experience with ArcGIS or CAD would be advantageous
