Are you a passionate and motivated Health Visitor looking for flexible working opportunities? We are seeking a Bank Band 6 Health Visitor to join our dedicated team, delivering high-quality, family-centered care across community settings.

About the Role

As a Bank Band 6 Health Visitor, you will play a key role in promoting the health and wellbeing of children and families. Working flexibly across services, you will contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a modern and innovative health visiting service.


Main duties of the job

* Plan, organise, and evaluate an effective and forward-thinking health visiting service, ensuring high standards of care are consistently achieved.
* Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions to children and families in a range of community settings, including homes, clinics, and partner agencies.
* Delegate appropriately to members of the health visiting team to ensure a coordinated and efficient service.
* Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, social care teams, and community partners to provide seamless and integrated care.
* Contribute to the achievement of Quality Strategy objectives through active engagement with team colleagues and service improvement initiatives.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Successful applicants will be required to demonstrate alignment with the Trust’s values & the behaviours aligned to those values – Accountability, Inclusion, Compassion, and Empowerment – alongside fulfilling the duties detailed in the attached Job Description and Person Specification.

Qualifications

* Registered Nurse or Midwife with current UK NMC registration
* Registered Health Visitor (SCPHN)
* Evidence of continuing post-registration education and training
* Practice assessor/supervisor training or working towards


Experience

* Co-ordinate health promotion initiatives in line with local and national health improvement targets
* Experience working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and inter-agency working
* Experience organising and managing own workload and that of others
* Experience assessing, planning, and implementing programmes of care and writing care plans
* Experience providing practice-based learning support to others
* Experience of evidence-based care
* Experience supervising staff / students


Skills

* Knowledge of recent developments in primary care
* Knowledge of current health and social care agenda relevant to area of work and professional practice
* Knowledge of current health legislation, including Change for Children agenda, Children’s Plan, etc.
* Current knowledge of child protection issues
* Appropriate knowledge of clinical skills
* Knowledge of quality issues, the audit process and clinical governance
* Knowledge of NMC Code
