Education Recruitment | Strategic Growth Partner
We’re looking for an experienced Fractional Finance Director to join Link3 Recruitment, an award-winning education recruitment and staffing business, as we enter an ambitious new phase of growth.
Founded in 2017, Link3 Recruitment specialises in temporary, long-term and permanent recruitment across the entire education workforce. We work in partnership with nurseries, primary and secondary schools, colleges, and special educational needs provisions to provide high-quality staffing solutions that genuinely support education settings.
The business has grown organically and sustainably, with no external funding or debt, and is led by three hands-on owner-directors who have built a trusted brand, a high-performing team, and a strong reputation for quality.
This is a board-level, strategic role — not a transactional finance position.
You’ll work closely with the Shareholder Directors as a trusted advisor, providing financial leadership, commercial challenge, and strategic insight to support the next stage of growth. You’ll have oversight of an established finance function (Finance Manager and Financial Controller), while focusing on forecasting, modelling, scalability, and long-term value creation.
What you’ll be responsible for:
* Providing strategic financial leadership to support sustainable growth
* Leading expert-level forecasting, cash flow planning, and long-term financial modelling
* Designing and maintaining robust cost models to support pricing, margins, and scalability
* Partnering with Directors on scenario planning, growth strategies, and key commercial decisions
* Bringing experience of invoice factoring / invoice discounting, including having managed or overseen such facilities
* Strengthening financial governance, controls, and reporting as the business scales
* Providing leadership and oversight to the Finance Manager and Financial Controller
* Acting as a critical friend at board level — constructively challenging assumptions and decisions
* Supporting the business in building long-term enterprise value, including preparing for a potential future exit
About you:
You’ll be an experienced Finance Director / CFO, likely operating in a fractional or portfolio capacity, with experience of:
* Scaling founder-led or owner-managed businesses
* Advanced forecasting, cash flow management, and cost modelling
* Understanding and managing invoice factoring or discounting arrangements
* Supporting businesses through high-growth phases
* Having developed, scaled, and ultimately sold a business (or played a key role in that journey)
