Overview
Health Care Assistant - General & Specialist Medicine. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants who are willing to get stuck in and hit the ground running. You should work well under pressure, be a great team player, and be self-motivated to work independently when needed. You will prioritise care, consideration and respect for patients and apply these qualities to your team members. A flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to embrace change to deliver the best patient care is essential, with a desire to grow and improve our service. Communication skills should be strong to help plan a safe and seamless journey home with patients, relatives/carers and colleagues. This is a unique opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant aiming to pursue a career in a hospital setting with a passion for stroke, within a well-established team dedicated to serving patients following a stroke.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to work both day and night shifts; more night shifts may be required than days.

Qualifications
Essential
* NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship - or equivalent experience
* Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
* Care Certificate
Skills & Abilities
* Good communication (written and verbal)
* Basic IT skills
* Good organisational skills
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Experience as a Care Support Worker or equivalent in a Health or Social care setting
* Experience of working within a team
Desirable
* Interest or experience in supporting other healthcare staff and learners
* Commitment to ongoing CPD
