Job Summary
The Lead Engineer meets all the requirements of the Senior Engineer role and is a skilled manager of a mid-sized team of individual contributors, which may include Principal Engineers within the Networks team. The role holder will hold relevant sector/discipline technical certifications and will manage, coordinate, and supervise the daily activities of a technical design, engineering support, and production team.
What you will do:
* Lead and motivate the team to generate ideas for new products or services, and develop plans for new designs to deliver products and/or services.
* Set priorities for the team to ensure task or project completion; coordinate work activities with other supervisors across work streams or projects.
* Oversee the realization of ideas from initial design through to production, testing, and installation processes.
* Ensure the completion of required technical and regulatory documents.
* Provide technical oversight and direction on quality-control tests of new products or systems, overseeing their construction/manufacture, development, and deployment.
Who you are:
* Someone with relevant engineering management skills and an understanding of IT Networks, capable of technical discussions.
* An experienced people manager who can develop those around them.
* Ability to manage customer expectations and ensure smooth delivery of technical solutions.
* Customer-focused, able to handle internal and external stakeholder relationships.
* Passionate about solving problems and providing workable solutions.
* Strong analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to visualize processes and outcomes.
* Commercially aware.
