Are you a band 6 Physiotherapist/Nurse or band 5 looking for the next step in your career? Do you have community or respiratory experience? We have an opportunity to join the Community Respiratory Service in North East Essex. The service is an integrated team of physiotherapists, nurses and support staff delivering pulmonary rehabilitation, COPD optimisation, respiratory virtual ward, home oxygen and respiratory physiotherapy for people out of hospital. Work may be in clinics, community venues or people’s homes.
Due to the nature of community work and locations for clinics, a driving licence and access to a car are essential. The post will primarily focus on pulmonary rehabilitation classes provided in venues across North East Essex, with possible home visits to patients for assessment and review within your scope of skills.

Responsibilities
* Complete assessment, care planning, education and interventions to support respiratory management.
* Liaise with other healthcare professionals and work as an autonomous practitioner on home visits and during weekends as a lone worker (with team support available when needed).
* Deliver pulmonary rehabilitation classes and support the expansion of the pulmonary rehabilitation offer to meet local population needs.
* Engage with patients, put them at ease, and use motivational and asset-based problem solving approaches to help overcome barriers to pulmonary rehabilitation.
* Be familiar with and able to discuss how to apply the British Thoracic Society guidelines for pulmonary rehabilitation.
* Be able to carry out tasks within your scope of skills and contribute to the multi-disciplinary team as required.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience at band 5 or band 6 level (Physiotherapist or Nurse) with community or respiratory experience.
* Skills in engaging with people, putting them at ease and motivating change.
* Good grasp of pulmonary rehabilitation principles and familiarity with British Thoracic Society guidelines for pulmonary rehabilitation.
* Ability to work autonomously on home visits and at weekends, with available team support.
Hours and setting
Currently 9am–5pm with potential to work evenings (finishing before 8pm) as the pulmonary rehabilitation offer expands. Scheduling is planned in advance.
