We’re looking for an exceptional Lead Pharmacist to take the clinical and strategic lead of our Pharmacy Services at Practice Plus Group Hospital in Ilford. This senior role is your opportunity to influence high-quality, safe and innovative medicines management across our hospital and affiliated services. As our most senior pharmacist on site, you’ll shape service delivery, lead a talented team, drive clinical excellence and contribute directly to the national medicines optimisation agenda. You’ll also be part of our group-wide Senior Pharmacy Leadership Team, giving you the platform to influence practice beyond your own site.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the onsite pharmacy team, including pharmacists, technicians, assistants and trainees.
* Drive the delivery of safe, effective, and patient‑focused pharmacy services in line with national standards.
* Lead on pharmaceutical aspects of new service mobilisation and hospital development projects.
* Embed innovative models of care, including virtual pharmacy reviews and peri‑operative pharmacy services.
* Oversee governance, medicines management and audit programmes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
* Act as the senior clinical pharmacy expert, providing advice to consultants, clinicians and patients.
* Represent pharmacy at senior management level and contribute to strategic planning, cost improvement programmes and digital transformation projects.
* Develop and mentor staff, support credentialing and foster advanced practice opportunities.
Qualifications
* Senior experience within hospital or primary care pharmacy with a strong track record of leading and developing high‑performing teams.
* Confidence in clinical governance, medicines safety, audit and service development and ability to interpret complex clinical and operational data to drive improvement.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Master’s degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent).
* GPhC registration.
* Postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification.
* Independent Prescribing qualification or willingness to work towards it.
